Azavon Text Experimentation 2

Description

Here's the follow-up to my previous language experimentation. ~TomorrowsArchon wanted me to create some characters/sentences for him to use in an upcoming character design, so after much delay I finally pumped this out. I'm not particularly happy with it but after staying up 4 hours to get this done, this is as good as it's getting for now, lol.

Lines 1 and 2 are my faves. Line 3 looks like it could be more syllabary than alphabetical, although it's pretty much just doodles. Line 4 is just doodles again. Although the character on the far left is one I'm considering - it has the makings of an "s" sound, judging from the various written forms it's taken throughout the ages.

All that said, I'm thinking of somehow combining both an alphabetical system with a syllabary system.

In my head I often see Azavonian carved into stone or written in gold in ink on stone. Grey graphite really doesn't cut it. :P

Ultimately, I'm looking for something majestic, magical, and powerful. Something a tad bit mysterious, but beautiful. And naturally these are only things I can recognize and not naturally produce. XD Darn people already taking all the awesome looking letters!!

Hey, I also dabble in language invention =) One tip I read somewhere in making an alphabet is to draw each character fast and repeatedly, hopefully giving way to some laziness. Most current alphabets are very very simplified versions of pictograms representing something, so to simulate centuries of alphabet evolution you need to find the simplest aspects of your letters and emphasize those =D Of course you can embellish with fancy additions, but start with the basic essence first! Runes are usually rudimentary anyway, no?
